EPISODE 1 - ALVIN CAILAN: LOVE FOR BURGERS

You may know Alvin Cailan as the founder of Eggslut, the breakfast-sandwich-food-truck phenomenon that started in 2011 and quickly gained cult status while expanding in Southern California and internationally. You may also know him as the popular host of The Burger Show, currently in its 9th season.

Alvin Cailan is arguably one of the most highly-profiled chefs in America's Filipino food movement. Before going to college and working with some of the best chefs on the West Coast, Alvin fell in love with commercial cooking at a very young age, cooking for priests and nuns at a local retreat center.

Today, Alvin implements his “chef-driven, chef-experimentation” on burgers in his newest endeavor: Amboy Quality Meats & Delicious Burgers in Los Angeles's Chinatown. At Amboy, Alvin has mastered the art of dry-aging and uses this craft to create the very popular DH Burger, inspired by the New York-style burgers and named after a conversation with his friend, Seth Rogen.
